CHIROPRACTIC SPORTS SPECIALIST | OWNER

Dr. Shane has advanced study in soft-tissue therapies (massage), biomedical acupuncture, dry needling, and exercise rehabilitation. The American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians has granted Dr. Shane the status of Diplomate in Sports Chiropractic. He is currently the only Sports Chiropractic diplomate in private practice serving Colorado Springs.

Dr. Shane has been expanding and refining his treatment skills, offering his patient’s an ever-improving quality of care. With 30 years of experience in health and fitness and 20 years in Chiropractic and Sports Injuries, Dr. Shane is our most skilled Chiropractor.

Dr. Shane graduated with a double specialty in Exercise Physiology and Athletic Therapy from Acadia University in Nova Scotia, Canada. He furthered his education at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College graduating in 2003.

He regularly pursues ongoing education in the form of seminars to discuss research of current therapies and their efficacy.

With over 20 years of experience, and the education to match - Dr. Shane is the Chiropractor we recommend when your case is complex, or when you require a more experienced Chiropractor to coordinate your recovery.

We are proud to have Dr. Christin Hinzman D.C. as a member of our Colorado Springs team. While working as a Chiropractic Assistant, Dr. Christin saw first-hand the dramatic impact that Chiropractic care can have on pregnant women, newborns and children. Dr. Christin’s passion revolves around helping newborns, infants, and children express the highest levels of health through Pediatric Chiropractic. Dr. Christin additionally provides expert Chiropractic care to expectant mothers both during pregnancy and after delivery.

Dr. Christin earned her Doctorate of Chiropractic from the University of Western States, graduating magna cum laude. Additionally, Dr. Christin completed 170 hours of Pediatric and Prenatal training through the ICPA Certification Program and has finished her Certification by the Academy Council of Chiropractic Pediatrics (CACCP). Dr. Christin earned a prestigious three-month internship at Active Family Chiropractic where she was able to further her knowledge of Pediatric and Prenatal Chiropractic by working alongside two of Oregon’s most respected Pediatric Chiropractors.

She enjoys learning more about pediatrics, pregnancy and postpartum and new techniques and strategies to help those patients in addition to learning new skill sets such as dry needling to help a wide variety of people and complaints.

Chiropractic adjustments on infants are quite different than they are for adults. All of Dr. Christin’s adjustments are very gentle and performed with light pressure or a special tool that requires very little force. Dr. Christin is the Chiropractor we recommend when patients are requesting a more gentle approach.

Dr. Lucia Archuleta, affectionately known as Dr. Arch, hails from the beautiful state of Colorado and is proud to call Colorado Springs her hometown. Driven by a life-altering motor vehicle accident, Dr. Arch discovered the transformative power of chiropractic care as a patient herself. Witnessing firsthand the remarkable benefits, she made the decision to redirect her path and pursue a career in chiropractic medicine.

She embarked on her academic journey at Cleveland University Kansas City, where she distinguished herself as atop-performing student, graduating in the top 5 of her class with honors, cum laude. Recognized for her academic excellence, Dr. Arch was invited to join the prestigious International Chiropractic Honor Society, Pi Tau Delta.

During her time at Cleveland University Kansas City, Dr. Arch demonstrated a deep commitment to both academic and extracurricular pursuits. She served as the president of the Sports Council, contributed as a board member of the Diversity Committee, and acted as a passionate campus ambassador.

CHIROPRACTIC REHABILITATION SPORTS SPECIALIST

Jennifer has a passion for soft tissue care as well as movement based rehabilitation exercises to keep people moving their best in their everyday life. She believes strongly in evidence based and patient centered care. When she's not in the office, you can find her snowboarding or hiking with her husband and two aussiedoodles.

Jennifer is originally from St. Louis, MO and moved out to Colorado to take full advantage of all the outdoor recreation the mountains had to offer. She was a Division 1 NCAA softball player at the University of Northern Iowa while pursuing her Bachelor of Arts in Biology/Pre-medical with a minor in Mental Health. After undergrad, she received her Doctorate of Chiropractic with cum laude honors in her hometown at Logan University.

During her tenure at Logan, she participated in clubs including Forward Thinking Chiropractic Alliance, Rehab 2 Performance, and Motion Palpation Institute. In her eighth trimester of school, she participated in the Integrated Healthcare Center rotation working alongside a variety of medical professionals while continuously having discussions with her clinicians of the latest evidence based research. While also in school, Jennifer was an academic peer tutor for 3 years, teaching other students courses including neuroanatomy, biochemistry, microbiology, pathology and diagnostic imaging. She spent her last two trimesters of preceptorship in Denver, Colorado working with two expert chiropractic doctors, one a CCSP with a rehab focus and the other being 1 of only 3 DNS practitioners in the state of Colorado. Most of Jen's time there was spent on soft tissue care, rehabilitation, and dynamic neuromuscular stabilization training.

Jennifer has a passion for soft tissue care as well as movement based rehabilitation exercises to keep people moving their best in their everyday life. Alex Dickinson, ATC

REHABILITATION THERAPIST

Alex recently moved to Colorado from Texas. Before moving to Colorado, she worked several years in Division 1 collegiate sports as an associate athletic trainer. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in Exercise Science from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. Alex is a certified athletic trainer by the National Board of Certification and licensed by the state of Colorado. Alex is also certified in dry needling which she incorporates into her practice often.

She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in Exercise Science from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.

Before moving to Colorado, Alex worked several years in Division 1 collegiate sports as an associate athletic trainer. She worked with Texas State’s women’s volleyball and baseball programs. She also worked at University of Houston with the baseball program. Before working at Texas State, Alex completed a rehabilitation athletic training residency with Texas Health Sports Medicine in Fort Worth, Texas.

Her yearlong residency focused on surgical and conservative rehabilitation program foundations and progressions as well as objective return to play criteria for athletes.

Prior to the residency, Alex worked several seasons with the Arizona Diamondbacks and New York Mets triple A affiliates as an assistant athletic trainer. She provided injury evaluation and prevention for top prospects and elite baseball athletes. She first moved to Texas to obtain her Masters of Science in Athletic Training from Texas A&M. Before graduating in 2018, Alex worked with Texas A&M baseball and women’s soccer.

As an athletic trainer, Alex works hand-in-hand with our Sports Chiropractors to structure your rehab is a way that is specific to your presentation.

Chiropractic and Massage have a natural Synergy. When combined both are more powerful than when given alone, I’m proud to be working with the Spine and Sport Center team to add high-quality soft tissue care to their chiropractic program.

Mark is very active in his continued education. Through study, Mark has continually refined his diverse skill set. Most recently, Mark is exploring techniques related to Muscle Repatterning. Muscle Repatterning allows for greater relaxation which can alleviate the physical stress of excessive muscle tension. Mark is excited to incorporate these new techniques into his treatments with his existing clientele.
